Employers with 200 or more employees that offer a health benefit plan will be required to auto-enroll their employees in their health benefit plan, after any employer imposed waiting periods (no longer than 90 days). The employee must be given the opportunity to opt-out if desired or change plans and/or add dependents if allowed under plan terms. Final regulations will not be determined until 2014 and compliance with this provision will not be in force until the regulations are in place.
